Worship & Praise - Choir...

John & Suzanne Zeman

Zeman.jpg (91554 bytes)"We need a safe harbor!" exclaimed Suzanne to Pastor Davis on the phone. Since their marriage the previous year, Suzanne and John’s lives had taken a number of bumps and bruises. Their choices seemed to stay in the city of Streator or to move to her home town of Princeton. Either option had a number of pitfalls that they both wanted to avoid. Both John and Suzanne, who had crossed paths with Pastor Davis when he was a Youth Pastor, wanted to find a place where they could grow and find their place in the Kingdom. Thinking DeKalb would be a good alternative, they called Pastor Davis to see they could move to the city. After conferring with the pastors from both churches, everyone seemed to agree it would be a positive move for all parties. Since then, God has provided a safe harbor for this loving family and for a lot others as well.

John and Suzanne are soulwinners. Suzanne, who serves as our Choir Director, and John who serves as a Worship Leader, have brought a lot of people to the church. They have actively reached out to friends and neighbors, and have been a great blessing to the church. It started early, when they witnessed to a new co-worker, Hector.   He saw his need to be baptized in Jesus name. He brought 20 of his friends to church to watch him! What Hector didn’t know, he would be the first of long line of people baptized by the Church.

Besides Choir, Suzanne fills a lot of different hats for the church. She also serves as a Sunday School Teacher, and as Ladies’ Prayer Director. She has completed numerous college classes and is a tremendous resource for Social Service Needs. John, who has been employed for a number of years as a Maintenance Director for a local organization, is also a tremendous help with physical needs. Whether its moving furniture, cutting the lawn, or hanging drywall, he wants to help. His interests includes all sports, computer games, music, rook, and bike-riding.

ZemPray.jpg (61722 bytes)DeKalb has proven to be a wonderful place to build life-long contacts with co-workers, neighbors, and various friends and raise their kids. All four of their children, have been born in Kishwaukee Hospital. They have even named one of the children after Pastor and Sis. Davis, (Alexandria Davis Zeman). Although Pastor Davis recognizes his saints don’t have to go that far, he is glad to have this couple a part of his staff team.
