Vital Statistics: Rev. Kenneth Dorf
felt he should attend ministry training studies in Stockton, CA, at Christian Life
College. It would be life changing for a number of reasons, but one especially, was
because he would meet his wife, Debbie. Debbie had received her Diploma from Texas Bible
College, and was attending the school in Stockton to receive her BA in Christian
Education. The two married in November of 1978, and made their home in Hillsboro, IL,
where Bro. Dorf taught Kindergarten in the Church’s Christian School.
God moved both of them to Texas, where they worked as a team in a
Christian School in Athens, Texas, and later at the headquarters of ACE, Accelerated
Christian Education. During there time in Texas, two lovely daughters, Kendra (1982), and
Karissa (1986) were added to their family. After serving a number of years, in 1989, the
family returned home to Illinois to serve at Ottawa Christian Academy. The Lord added
their youngest child, Kyle, in October of 1991.
Currently, they serve in so many roles. Bro. Dorf preaches and
teaches in our worship services, drives a van weekly for our Bus Evangelism, teaches in
Sunday School, co-ordinates our Bible Quizzing ministries, and serves as a Board Member.
Not
only did Bro. Dorf complete Bible college work, but he has also been attending night
classes pursuing a degree in Accounting. Graduating in June of 2001, with his associates,
he will continue seeking his Batchelors in the Fall of 2001. He is currently employed by
the Illinois Department of Corrections as an Industry Supervisor.
Serving the church family in so many ways, Sis. Dorf serves as
our Sunday School Superintendent, is the Junior Bible Quizzing Associate Coach, is a Choir
Member, and sings with the Worship & Praise Team. Her enthusiasm, energy, and vision
serves to benefit the many activities of the church.
Not only did she receive her diploma from Texas Bible

Child Care area. Her qualifications and achievements have put her in very special company.
Currently, she is teaching in the third grade level at a local Christian School,
Cornerstone.
