Linda Edwards
"I don't know what I
can do?" she questioned, "I can have everybody meet at my house."
Linda was speaking to John Saponari, the Single Focus Director. So Linda began a weekly
Bible Study for Single people that would meet in her home. Often coming home after a long
day at work to cook, and prepare for the group, she wanted to be a blessing. Sis.
Linda has woven her way into the fabric of the United Pentecostal Church of DeKalb doing
the jobs that needed to be done. When the church needed to be vacuumed after the Sunday
Services, she volunteered. When a Sunday Teacher for the Primary class was needed, she
volunteered. Her weekly contributions to the ministry of the church is making a
difference in many peoples' lives.
VITAL
STATISTICS: Linda started attending the United Pentecostal Church in the Fall
of 2000. Her new neighbor, John Saponari, invited her to the Church. It seemed from Day
one, it was the perfect church for Linda. Having struggled against a number of personal
crises in the area of drugs, alcohol, and a failed marriage, Linda needed Jesus. When one
looks at her today, it seems she is not the same person. In fact she'll tell you.
"I'm not the same anymore, Jesus has changed me.!" Linda hosts a weekly Bible
Study for Singles that is well attended. She also works in the Sunday School Department as
a Teacher for the Primary Class, and weekly cleans the Sanctuary. She is a regular member
of the Ladies' Prayer Group, and helps out in Ladies' Ministry. It is great to have her on
the team.
