Ministry Staff
- Rev. Harold Bassett, Jr.
You'll never get me to do that!", remarked the truck driving
son to his mother in 1981. They were talking about his niece. It seems she had found a
Pentecostal experience in Kokomo, IN. As his Mom told him about how she received the
baptism of the Holy Ghost, speaking in tongues, with joy and demonstration. Little did he
know, it would be just a few short months later, he too would have his own salvational
experience.
Bro. Bassett came into the church in 1982 in Aurora,
IL. Under the ministry of Rev. Bill Coltharp, he received the Holy Ghost in January of
1983, flat on his back. He had wanted an experience with God so bad, even a leg brace from
an injury didn't keep him from getting through to God. Six months later, God called him
into the ministry asking him to "Feed my Sheep!"
Bro. Bassett moved to Sycamore in 1996, when he purchased a
lovely 2 Bedroom condominium. He has sought to be a blessing to the ministry and saints of
the United Pentecostal Church. Having much experience teaching Bible Studies to immates,
preaching in a number of churches, and leading people to greater dedication, he has been a
blessing.
Currently, he serves in ministry at the Golden Years Plaza. He
preaches their regular, teaches Bible Studies, and is seeing a revival. "You just
don't know what God is doing. We are having a revival!" he remarked one day. It's a
pleasure to have him working on the team.
